System Design Engineer

NEC Australia is a leader in 3G mobile communications technologies. We
have
an opportunity for a System Design Engineer with a strong working
knowledge
of DSP technology to work in our global team. This is a unique
opportunity
to develop DSP algorithms and observe DSP algorithms in silicon and
products.

You will be involved in the complete product development life cycle for
the
design and development of 3G WCDMA mobile terminals.

The features of this design area are:

*System and sub-system design
*Algorithm development and evaluation, design verification and
validation
*System modelling and simulation (Cossap, Matlab, C++)
*UMTS/GSM dual mode BB core development
*System testing and integration
*Participation in ÔSystem on a chipÕ design exposure to international
standardisation process

Solid experience in Cossap, Matlab, C or C++ modelling, DSP algorithms
development, system/sub-system design, C or Assembler development, and
some
experience in wireless telecommunications are essential technical
requirements. Low level hardware experience is preferred.

A Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) or Bachelor of Science
(Computer) or
equivalent is essential.
