Muscle length is a major determinant of eccentric exercise damage.
Toad sartorius experiments
Good muscle because:
Long parallel fibres of near uniform length
Low passive force out to long lengths giving a clear descending limb of total tension.
Results show a clear correlation with length, not tension.
12 muscles, 20 contractions of 10% stretch at various speeds.
