MUCBE supports a number of academic programs for biomedical engineers.

BSc/BE in Physiology and Electrical & Computer Systems Engineering
A combined degree course in Medical Science and Engineering with extensive clinical exposure. The course produces graduates with an in-depth knowledge of engineering, medical science, the biomedical instrumentation manufacturing industry and clinical engineering practice in hospitals. The course structure includes both second and third year Medical Science, and a full Engineering course, with a set of Biomedical Engineering subjects in place of the normal option subjects.

B Biomed Sc/BE
From 2006 students are able to take a double degree program offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering. Students will be able to combine a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in one of five disciplines (Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) and position themselves in careers in the Biomedical Engineering Field.

Graduate Studies by Research (MEngSci and PhD)
Research students normally enrol for a Master of Engineering Science (by major thesis), and then convert to a PhD degree (see Doctoral handbook) after about a year if appropriate, and agreeable to both student and supervisor.

Continuing Education Programs
MUCBE has continued involvement in one off and regular continuing education program.
These programs are delivered in a number of innovative mediums including over the internet, at seminar and workshops held at the university or interstate and by videoconference.
It should be noted that a number of continuing education programs have been run overseas for relevant professional bodies.
