Through its extensive affiliations the Centre is able to offer a wide
range of consultancy services in the area of biomedical engineering
and medical technology, including:
- Training programs in the area of Prosthetics, Orthotics and
Biomechanics
- Biomechanics R & D, particularly relating to
rehabilitation engineering
- Medical device regulatory affairs including advice on the
preparation of pre-market approval applications
- Testing and calibration of Electromedical equipment
- Training of clinical engineers including short courses on
electromedical standards, acceptance testing, in service testing,
and equipment acquisition and support
- Medical technology selection using life-cycle cost analysis
and multicriteria decision analysis
- Short courses on biomaterials
- Inspection reports of medical technology installations
- Investigation of medical device problems and equipment failure
