BE, PhD, DSc
Teaching Director: B J
Lithgow,
BSc, BE, MEngSc
- Mr Brian Lithgow is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and
Computer Systems Engineering and has research interests in
cochlear implant signal processing, neurophysiology of the
auditory midbrain, neural modelling and acoustic noise
cancellation. He has considerable experience in, consults to and
has undertaken research with the clinical sector and has
publications on biomedical education and commercialisation of
medical research.
L N
Binh,
BE(Hons), PhD
- Dr Le Binh is a Reader in Electrical and Computer Systems
Engineering. His research interest is in photonics technology with
a special interest in laser systems for medical applications.
K P Dabke,
ME, PhD, DipEd
- Dr Kishor Dabke is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of
Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering. His research
interests include the analysis of chaos in medical signals.
K C Ng,
BSc, PhD, MIEE
- Assoc Prof Kim Ng, an Associate Professor in the Electrical
and Computer Systems Engineering Department, has research
interests in electronics, instrumentation and non-contact shape
measurement using machine vision, with emphasis on the development
of applications in biomedical and industrial areas.
B W Oakes,
MB BS, MD
- Dr Barry Oakes is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Anatomy,
and Director, Sports Medicine Centre of Victoria. His research
activities include clinical biomechanics and application to
connective tissue repair, especially ligament and articular
cartilage.
Professor Uwe Proske,
BSc, PhD, DSc
- Professor Proske holds a personal chair in the Physiology
Department at Monash. His research interests include the receptors
in muscles that provide information to the brain on body position,
and the mechanical properties of muscle.
R A Russell,
BE, PhD
- Assoc Prof Andy Russell is an Assoc Professor in Electrical
and Computer Systems Engineering and a member of the Intelligent
Robotics Research Centre within the department. He has a long
standing interest in providing robots with a sense of touch. The
sensors he has developed can be used to replace human touch where
the natural tactile sensory abilities are impaired or to measure
physiological qualities such as the distribution of foot
pressure.
