Brief Biography
Dr. Ming Liu
received his MEngSc in 1982 from the Northeastern University, China and his
PhD from Wollongong
University, Australia in 1991. From 1976 to 1986 he was with the Department of Automatic
Control in Northeast
University, China holding a position of a teaching fellow and then a lectureship. From
1986 to 1990, he was with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
and the Automation and Engineering Applications Centre in the University of
Wollongong, Australia. He was a research fellow in the Department of
Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in Melbourne University afterwards. Since 1992 he has been with the Department of Electrical
and Computer Systems Engineering, Monash University, holding a position of Senior Lectureship.
Dr. Ming Liu is a member of Editorial Board of International Journal of
Information Acquisition (World Scientific) and has been a reviewer of many
journals such as IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, on Robotics and
Automation, on Mechatronics, Automatica, Robotica and Journal of Intelligent and Robotics
Systems etc. He served as member of program committees of many international
conferences such as IROS, WICICA and ICIA etc. He is a senior visiting
scholar in the Institute of Intelligent Machines, Chinese Academy of Science.
He also served as a member in the council of Australian Robotics and
Automation Association (ARAA) (from 2000 to 2002).
