Entry Criteria for BE

in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering

The first year course for the Bachelor of Engineering at Monash University is common for all students. After successful completion of the first year course, students apply for entry to the engineering stream of their choice.

The criteria for acceptance into Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering are as set out below. Should the number of applicants exceed the number of places available, students will be selected on the basis of their marks in first year.

Entry Criteria

Students must have passed 24cp of level one including ENG1060 Computing for Engineers and ENG1091 Mathematics for engineering.

Should the number of applicants exceed the number of places available, students will be selected on the basis of their marks in first year.

ENG1030 Electrical Systems

Although ENG1030 is not compulsory for entry to second year, it is strongly recommended. Material in Level 2 units will build on material covered in ENG1030, and if you have not passed this unit well, it is strongly recommended that you prepare by self-study of the ENG1030 material.
